Ritara Compton met the man of her dreams on Instagram. Compton, who is a website developer and delivery driver, is a resident of Denver. He’s a laborer from Syria who lives in a refugee camp in Lebanon. After about seven months of video chatting, she bought a plane ticket and flew to Lebanon, where the couple met for the first time in person and got married in September 2018. Just days after the wedding, though, Compton had to return to her commitments in the United States.
